The 193rd General Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

AN ACT DESIGNATING A CERTAIN BRIDGE IN THE TOWN OF HARWICH AS THE UNITED STATES NAVY LIEUTENANT JUNIOR GRADE RALPH WALLACE BURNS MEMORIAL BRIDGE.

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to designate forthwith a certain bridge in the town of Harwich as the United States Navy Lieutenant Junior Grade Ralph Wallace Burns Memorial Bridge, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:
Bridge No. H-10-013 on state highway route 124 spanning United States highway route 6 in the town of Harwich shall be designated and known as the United States Navy Lieutenant Junior Grade Ralph Wallace Burns Memorial Bridge, in honor and recognition of United States Navy Lieutenant Junior Grade Ralph Wallace Burns who lost his life in World War II while serving as a pilot.  The Massachusetts Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain suitable markers bearing this designation in compliance with the standards of the department.
