AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF SALEM TO CONVEY A CERTAIN PARCEL OF PARK LAND.

     Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:
     SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary but subject to paragraphs (a), (b) and (g) of section 16 of chapter 30B of the General Laws, the city of Salem, acting through its mayor and city council, may convey to North Shore Medical Center, Inc. a certain parcel of dedicated park land adjacent to Bertram field, consisting of 1,219 square feet and shown as "Parcel B" on a plan on file in the office of the city clerk of Salem entitled "Plan of Land Salem, 55 Highland Avenue", prepared by North Shore Survey Corporation and dated April 28, 2015.
     SECTION 2. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary but subject to clause (2) of paragraph (e) of section 16 of chapter 30B of the General Laws and upon the conveyance of the parcel identified in section 1, the city of Salem shall acquire from North Shore Medical Center, Inc. a 6,298 square foot parcel of land adjacent to Bertram field, shown as "Parcel A" on the plan referenced in section 1.  Once acquired by the city, the city council shall dedicate the land for park purposes pursuant to section 3 of chapter 45 of the General Laws.
     SECTION 3. The city of Salem shall prepare and record in the Essex southern district registry of deeds a plan of land describing the precise boundaries of the parcels of land acquired and conveyed pursuant to this act.
     SECTION 4. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
