AN ACT RELATIVE TO PERMITTING THE TOWN OF HULL TO HOLD A SPECIAL ELECTION ON NOVEMBER 8, 2016.

     Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:
     SECTION 1.  (a) Notwithstanding any general or special law or town charter by-law to the contrary, the town of Hull, by majority vote of the board of selectmen, may call for and conduct a special town election on November 8, 2016 to coincide with the date of the state and national election, to determine if the town will accept sections 3 to 7, inclusive, of chapter 44B of the General Laws as otherwise provided for under said chapter 44B.  Any such vote to call for said election prior to the effective date of this act shall be deemed effective as if this act was in effect at the time of the vote.
     (b)  At any such election, the town clerk shall include on the ballot the form of question and summary provided for under section 3 of chapter 44B of the General Laws.
     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
