AN ACT AMENDING THE CHARTER OF THE CITY KNOWN AS THE TOWN OF GREENFIELD.

     Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:
     SECTION 1.  Section 2-4 of the charter of the city known as the town of Greenfield, which is on file in the office of the archivist of the commonwealth as provided in section 12 of chapter 43B of the General Laws, is hereby amended by striking out subsection (b) and inserting in place thereof the following subsection:-
     (b)  If the town council sets an annual salary by ordinance, the salary shall not take effect until 4 years after the effective date of the ordinance.
     SECTION 2.  Section 6-11 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out subsection (b) and inserting in place thereof the following subsection:-
     (b)  At the first meeting in each fiscal year, the commission shall elect a chairperson, vice chairperson and secretary and the secretary shall keep a record of its meetings.
     SECTION 3.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
