AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE ANNUAL OBSERVANCE OF THE MONTH OF MAY AS THE OFFICIAL MONTH OF KINDNESS

      Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to designate forthwith the month of May as the official month of kindness, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience

     Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:
     Chapter 6 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 15YYYYY the following section:-
     Section 15ZZZZZ.  The governor shall annually issue a proclamation setting apart the month of May as the official month of kindness, and recommending that the month be observed by the people as a period of special attention to the importance of being kind to each other with acts that will assist those in need in a way that provides a path to self-sufficiency.
