AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE TOWN OF WARREN TO CONTINUE THE EMPLOYMENT OF DENNIS DESROSIERS

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Dennis Desrosiers, a member of the fire department of the town of Warren, may continue to serve in that position until August 26, 2019, the date of his retirement or the date on which he is relieved of his duties by the fire chief, whichever occurs first; provided, however, that he is mentally and physically capable of performing the duties of the position. The town may, at its own expense, require that Dennis Desrosiers be examined by an impartial physician designated by the town to determine such capability. No further deductions shall be made from the regular compensation of Dennis Desrosiers pursuant to chapter 32 of the General Laws for service subsequent to the date on which he reaches 65 years of age and, upon retirement, Dennis Desrosiers shall receive a superannuation retirement allowance equal to that which he would have been entitled had he retired at the age of 65.
SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
