AN ACT ALLOWING EMPLOYEES OF THE WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS DISTRICT TO BECOME MEMBERS OF THE HAMPDEN COUNTY RETIREMENT SYSTEM.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding subdivision (4) of section 28 of chapter 32 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, the Western Massachusetts Emergency Communications District, as established pursuant to sections 18O to 18V, inclusive, of chapter 6A of the General Laws may, by a vote of the Western Massachusetts Emergency Communications District board, accept the applicable provisions of chapter 32 of the General Laws and thereby cause all eligible employees of the Western Massachusetts Emergency Communications District to become members of the Hampden county retirement system immediately upon such acceptance.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
