AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE RENAMING OF THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN TO SELECT BOARD IN THE TOWN OF STONEHAM.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. The first paragraph of section 2 of chapter 26 of the acts of 1981, as appearing in section 1 of chapter 296 of the acts of 1994, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 1, the word “selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 2. The second paragraph of said section 2 of said chapter 26, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 4, the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 3. Section 4 of said chapter 26, as appearing in section 2 of said chapter 296, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 1, the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 4. Section 5 of said chapter 26, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 1 and 12, the word “selectmen” and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 5. Said section 5 of said chapter 26, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in line 16 and in lines 21 and 22, the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 6. Section 6 of said chapter 26, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 2, the word “selectmen”, each time it appears, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 7. Section 7 of said chapter 26, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 4 and 8, the word “selectmen” and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 8. Section 8 of said chapter 26, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 1, 3, 12, 13 and 16, the word “selectmen” and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 9. Said section 8 of said chapter 26, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in lines 8 and 9, the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 10. Section 9 of said chapter 26, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 2, the word “selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 11. Subsection (a) of section 10 of said chapter 26, as amended by chapter 91 of the acts of 1996, is hereby further amended by striking out, in line 3, the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 12. Subsection (b) of said section 10 of said chapter 26, as appearing in section 3 of chapter 296 of the acts of 1994, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 6, the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 13. Subsection (d) of said section 10 of said chapter 26, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 5 and 6, the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 14. Subsection (e) of said section 10 of said chapter 26, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 1 and 2, the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 15. Subsection (f) of said section 10 of said chapter 26, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 2, the word “selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 16. Said subsection (f) of said section 10 of said chapter 26, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in line 3, the word “selectmen’s” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board’s.
SECTION 17. Subsection (g) of said section 10 of said chapter 26, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 1 and 2, the word “selectmen” and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 18. Subsection (j) of said section 10 of said chapter 26, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 4 and 5, the word “selectmen” and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 19. Subsection (l) of said section 10 of said chapter 26, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 1, the word “selectmen’s” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board’s.
SECTION 20. Section 12 of said chapter 26, as appearing in section 4 of said chapter 296, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 6, the word “selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 21. Section 13 of said chapter 26, as appearing in chapter 23 of the acts of 2003, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 8, the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 22. The first paragraph of section 14 of said chapter 26, as appearing in section 4 of chapter 296 of the acts of 1994, is hereby amended by striking out, under the heading “office”, the words “b. board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- b. select board.
SECTION 23. Section 15 of said chapter 26, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 2, the word “selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 24. Section 16 of said chapter 26, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 1 and 4, the word “selectmen” and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 25. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
