AN ACT DESIGNATING A CERTAIN BRIDGE IN THE TOWN OF HUDSON AS THE PRIVATE FIRST CLASS KENNETH M. THIBAULT MEMORIAL BRIDGE

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to designate forthwith a certain bridge in the town of Hudson, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:

Bridge number H-25-003, on Washington street spanning the Assabet river in the town of Hudson, shall be designated and known as the Private First Class Kenneth M. Thibault Memorial Bridge, in honor of United States Army Private First Class Kenneth M. Thibault who died on April 2, 1967 in the Vietnam War as the result of gunshot wounds received in hostile ground action.

The highway division of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain conspicuous signs, plaques or markers bearing the designation “Private First Class Kenneth M. Thibault Memorial Bridge” and a description that shall state “The Commonwealth of Massachusetts hereby recognizes the public service and ultimate sacrifice of Private First Class Kenneth M. Thibault, who died on April 2, 1967 in the Vietnam War as the result of gunshot wounds received in hostile ground action, to the Town of Hudson and to the citizens of the United States of America and the Commonwealth.”. The signs, plaques or markers shall comply with the standards of the division insofar as the standards are not inconsistent with this act.
