AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE TOWN OF HADLEY TO TRANSFER THE CARE AND CONTROL OF A CERTAIN PARCEL OF PARK LAND IN THE TOWN OF HADLEY TO THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.  (a) Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the town of Hadley may transfer the care and control of a certain parcel of park land located at 239 River drive, containing 1.2 acres, more or less, and described in a deed recorded in the Hampshire registry of deeds in book 720, page 91 from the park and recreation commission of the town to the board of selectmen for general municipal purposes. Upon transfer of the parcel to the board of selectmen, the board of selectmen may convey the parcel on such terms and conditions as the board deems appropriate.

(b)  In consideration for the conveyance authorized in subsection (a) the town of Hadley shall dedicate for active recreational use 2 parcels of land located on Breckenridge road, containing a total of 6 acres, more or less, and described in deeds recorded in the Hampshire registry of deeds in book 966, page 165 and book 1034, page 251.

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
