AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE RENAMING OF THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN TO SELECT BOARD IN THE TOWN OF HUBBARDSTON
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Article 1 of the charter of the town of Hubbardston, which is on file in the office of the archivist of the commonwealth, as provided in section 12 of chapter 43B of the General Laws, is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 2. Section 1-4-2 of section 4 of said article 1 of said charter is hereby amended by adding the following sentence:- The select board shall have and exercise all the powers duties vested in boards of selectmen under the General Laws or by vote of town, unless otherwise provided herein.
SECTION 3. Article 2 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 4. Section 1 of article 3 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the title and inserting in place thereof the following title:- Executive Powers Vested in the Select Board.
SECTION 5. Said section 1 of said article 3 of said charter is hereby further amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 6. Section 2 of said article 3 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the title and inserting in place thereof the following title:- Term, Composition and Vacancies of the Select Board.
SECTION 7. Said section 2 of said article 3 of said charter is hereby further amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 8. Said section 2 of said article 3 of said charter is hereby further amended by striking out the words “number of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- number of select board members.
SECTION 9. Said section 2 of said article 3 of said charter is hereby further amended by striking out the words “office of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- office of select board member.
SECTION 10. Section 3 of said article 3 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 11. Section 4 of said article 3 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 12. Section 5 of said article 3 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 13. Article 4 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 14. Section 4-5-2 of section 5 of said article 4 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the word “selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 15. Article 5 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 16. Article 6 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 17. Subsection (b) of section 2 of chapter 292 of the acts of 2012 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 18. Subsection (c) of section 3 of said chapter 292 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 19. Subsection (b) of section 7 of said chapter 292 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 20. Said subsection (b) of said section 7 of said chapter 292 is hereby further amended by striking out the word “selectman”, each time it appears, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board member.
SECTION 21. Section 8 of said chapter 292 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 22. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
