AN ACT RELATIVE TO THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN OF THE TOWN OF MAYNARD.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. The charter of the town of Maynard, which is on file in the office of the archivist of the commonwealth, as provided in section 12 of chapter 43B of the General Laws, is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, the first to twenty-ninth times, inclusive, the thirty-first to thirty-fifth times, inclusive, the thirty-seventh to the one hundred and third times, inclusive, the one hundred and fifth time and the one hundred and seventh to one hundred and twenty-sixth times, inclusive, they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 2. Paragraph (2) of subsection (g) of section 3-1 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “Board of Selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- “Select Board”.
SECTION 3. Said paragraph (2) of said subsection (g) of said section 3-1 of said charter is hereby further amended by striking out the word “selectmen”, the second time it appears, and inserting in place thereof the following word:- the select board.
SECTION 4. Said paragraph (2) of said subsection (g) of said section 3-1 of said charter is hereby further amended by striking out the word “selectmen”, the third and fourth time it appears, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board members.
SECTION 5. Section 3-2 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the title and inserting in place thereof the following title:- SELECT BOARD.
SECTION 6. Section 5-6 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “BOARD OF SELECTMEN” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- SELECT BOARD.
SECTION 7. Said section 5-6 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the word “selectmen”, the second time it appears, and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 8. Figure 1 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “Board of Selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- SELECT BOARD.
SECTION 9. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
