The 193rd General Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

AN ACT DESIGNATING A CERTAIN BRIDGE IN THE TOWN OF FALMOUTH AS THE DEPUTY JOHN ROBERT KOTFILA, JR. MEMORIAL BRIDGE.

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to designate forthwith a certain bridge in the town of Falmouth, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
The bridge located on the northbound side of state highway route 28 spanning state highway route 151 in the town of Falmouth shall be designated and known as the Deputy John Robert Kotfila, Jr. memorial bridge, in memory of John Robert Kotfila, Jr., a Falmouth native who was killed in the line of duty while serving as a deputy sheriff in the Hillsborough county sheriff’s office deputy sheriff in the state of Florida. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain suitable markers on the bridge bearing such designation in compliance with the standards of the department.
