AN ACT DESIGNATING A CERTAIN BRIDGE IN THE TOWN OF NEEDHAM THE PRIVATE FIRST CLASS DAVID “DAMON” BORRELLI MEMORIAL BRIDGE

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Bridge number N-04-011 located on Great Plain avenue in the town of Needham shall be designated and known as the Private First Class David “Damon” Borrelli Memorial Bridge in recognition of Private First Class David Borrelli who was killed in action on July 11, 1941 in France. Serving in the United States Army, A Company, 1st Battalion, 116th Infantry Regiment, Private First Class David Borrelli was in the initial invasion on Omaha beach in Normandy, France. Private First Class David Borrelli was killed at the age of 21 in the Battle of Saint-Lô, a crossroads town in Normandy that was reduced to rubble. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain a suitable marker bearing the designation in compliance with the standards of the department.
