AN ACT AMENDING THE CHARTER OF THE TOWN OF SUTTON
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. The table of contents of the charter of the town of Sutton, which is on file in the office of the archivist of the commonwealth, as provided in section 12 of chapter 43B of the General Laws, is hereby amended by striking out the words “Board of Selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- “Select Board”.
SECTION 2. Section 1-4 of article 1 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 3. Section 1-7 of article 1 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 4. Subsection (b) of section 2-3 of article 2 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 5. Subsection (c) of said section 2-3 of said article 2 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the word “chairman” and inserting in place thereof the following word:- chair.
SECTION 6. Section 2-5 of said article 2 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 7. Section 2-6 of said article 2 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 8. Section 2-7 of said article 2 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 9. Subsection (a) of section 3-1 of article 3 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 10. Subsection (e) of said section 3-1 of said article 3 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 11. Subsection (f) of said section 3-1 of said article 3 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 12. Said subsection (f) of said section 3-1 of said article 3 of said charter is hereby further amended by striking out the word “selectman”, each time it appears, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board member.
SECTION 12A. Said Subsection (f) of said section 3-1 of said article 3 of said charter is hereby further amended by striking out the word “selectmen”, each time it appears, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board members.
SECTION 13. Subsection (g) of said section 3-1 of article 3 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 14. Section 3-2 of said article 3 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the title and inserting in place thereof the following title:- SELECT BOARD.
SECTION 15. Said section 3-2 of said article 3 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 16. Section 3-6 of said article 3 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 17. Section 3-7 of said article 3 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 18. Section 4-1 of article 4 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 19. Section 4-2 of said article 4 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 20. Section 4-3 of said article 4 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 21. Section 4-4 of said article 4 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 22. Section 4-5 of said article 4 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 23. Section 5-1 of article 5 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 24. Section 6-3 of article 6 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 25. Section 6-4 of said article 6 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 26. Section 6-7 of said article 6 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 27. Section 6-8 of said article 6 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “chairman of the board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- chair of the select board.
SECTION 28. Section 7-4 of article 7 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 29. Section 7-6 of said article 7 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “chairman or the chairman’s”, and inserting in place thereof the following words:- chair or the chair’s.
SECTION 30. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
