AN ACT RELATIVE TO HIV PREVENTION SERVICES

         Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to broaden access to critical and effective human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) prevention services, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.  Section 12F of chapter 112 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “patient”, in line 6, the following words:- , or for the prevention of HIV for sexually active minors.

SECTION 2.  Said section 12F of said chapter 112, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by inserting after the word “be”, in line 14, the following words:- at risk of exposure due to sexual activity or to be.

SECTION 3.  Said section 12F of said chapter 112, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by inserting after the word “disease”, in line 18, the following words:- , or prevention of HIV if the minor is sexually active.

SECTION 4.  This act shall take effect on July 1, 2022.
