AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE TOWN OF MIDDLEBOROUGH TO LEASE A CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND TO THE TOWN OF PLYMPTON.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.  (a) Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the town of Middleborough, acting by and through its board of selectmen, may lease to the town of Plympton land owned by Middleborough and located in the town of Plympton on the northerly side of Soule street and acquired by the town of Middleborough by a deed recorded in the Plymouth county registry of deeds in book 8431, page 269.

The land to be leased to the town of Plympton contains 7.5 acres more or less and is bound by Soule street, other land owned by the town of Middleborough and land of owned by the town Plympton. The land to be leased is part of the town of Plympton assessor’s parcel 23-2-97.

(b)  The town of Plympton may use the leased property only for recreation and open space purposes including access to  property owned by the town of Plympton that adjoins the leased property, for an unpaved parking area that may have a gravel or crushed stone surface and a 2-sided information kiosk to identify available recreational activities.

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
