AN ACT DESIGNATING THE FIRST TUESDAY OF OCTOBER AS INFLAMMATORY BREAST CANCER AWARENESS DAY

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to designate the second Tuesday of October as Inflammatory Breast Cancer Awareness Day, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Chapter 6 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 15SSSSSS, the following section:—
Section 15TTTTTT. The governor shall annually issue a proclamation setting apart the second Tuesday of October as Inflammatory Breast Cancer Awareness Day to raise awareness of the occurrence of inflammatory breast cancer and to encourage regular testing for inflammatory breast cancer amongst the residents of the commonwealth and recommending that the day be observed in an appropriate manner by the people.

Approved, January 4, 2023.
