AN ACT REGULATING POLLING PLACES IN THE CITY KNOWN AS THE TOWN OF BRAINTREE

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding section 24 of chapter 54 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, the town council of the city known as the town of Braintree shall designate the polling place for each voting precinct in the town and shall authorize the mayor of the town to cause each polling place to be suitably fitted up and prepared. The town council shall locate the polling place in a public, orderly and convenient portion of the precinct; provided, however, that if the town council determines that the public convenience would be better served, it may designate a polling place in any adjacent or non-adjacent precinct of the town.

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
