SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Michael Trovato, a member of the fire department of the town of Provincetown, may continue to serve in such position until May 31, 2025, until the date of his retirement or until the date he is relieved of his duties by the board of fire engineers of the town of Provincetown, whichever occurs first; provided, however, that he is mentally and physically capable of performing the duties of such position. SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
