AN ACT CLARIFYING THE APPLICATION OF JUDICIAL RETIREMENT LAW
Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to clarify forthwith the application of judicial retirement law, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 65D of chapter 32 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “offices”, in line 72, the following words:- , regardless of whether the service in such office or offices was continuous.
SECTION 2. Said section 65D of said chapter 32, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in line 104, the word “shall” and inserting in place thereof the following word:- may.
