AN ACT DESIGNATING A CERTAIN BRIDGE IN THE TOWN OF LEXINGTON AS THE HENRY N. “HANK” MANZ BRIDGE

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to designate forthwith a bridge in the town of Lexington, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Bridge number L10010 located on state highway route 2A spanning interstate highway route 95 in the town of Lexington shall be designated and known as the Henry N. “Hank” Manz Bridge in honor of his outstanding commitment to the community, which included serving as scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts Troop 160 for 17 years, creating an in-house hockey league for which he served as commissioner for 20 years, serving as a select board member in the town of Lexington for 9 years, serving as a member of the Lexington town meeting for 26 years, proudly serving his country in active duty for 11 years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, serving on various town committees and receiving the White Tricorne Hat Award in 2018 by Lions Club of Lexington, Inc. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain suitable markers bearing this designation in compliance with the standards of the department.
