AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE TOWN OF HULL TO LEASE CERTAIN PROPERTY TO PROMOTE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND FOR THE MORE EFFECTIVE USE OF TOWN PROPERTY

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. (a) Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary but subject to the provisions of subsections (a), (b) and (g) of section 16 of chapter 30B of the General Laws and such terms and conditions that the select board of the town of Hull shall deem in the best interests of the town, the select board of the town of Hull may, for the purposes of promoting economic development in the town of Hull and for the more effective use of town property: (i) lease or extend or renew leases to current lessees or others or their successors and assigns for the parcels of town property described in subsection (b) up to the maximum term allowed by law; and (ii) thereafter extend such leases for consecutive terms up to the maximum allowed by law. Any such leases, extensions or renewals thereof shall only be granted to a lessee that has made or will make improvements to any of the parcels described in said subsection (b), including the construction of buildings or improving existing structures.
         (b) The parcels authorized for lease or for the extension or renewal thereof pursuant to subsection (a) are: (i) 50 George Washington boulevard, identified on the town of Hull assessors’ maps as parcel 37-006-A, presently leased to Bayside Marketing Systems, Inc.; (ii) 48 George Washington boulevard, identified on the town’s assessors’ maps as parcel 37-007, presently leased to Steamboat Wharf Marina, Inc.; and (iii) 245 Nantasket avenue, identified on the town’s assessors’ maps as parcel 34-098-B, presently leased to Beach Food Market, Inc.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
