AN ACT DESIGNATING A CERTAIN OVERPASS IN THE TOWN OF SANDWICH AS THE UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS STAFF SERGEANT RAYMOND G. TOURVILLE VETERANS MEMORIAL OVERPASS

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

          (a) The Quaker Meetinghouse Overpass located over state highway route 6 Mid Cape highway, bridge numbers S04007 (4BB) and S04010 (4BC), in the town of Sandwich, shall be designated and known as the United States Marine Corps Staff Sergeant Raymond G. Tourville Veterans Memorial Bridge, in memory of Raymond G. Tourville, of the town of Sandwich, who dedicated his life to serving the United States for a decade in the United States Marine Corps. Raymond lost his life to suicide due to traumatic brain injuries and post-traumatic stress disorder on September 15, 2024, at age 27, after numerous deployments where he served with distinction and upheld the United States Marine Corps’ values of honor, courage and commitment to the United States.
         (b) The Massachusetts Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain suitable markers on the bridge bearing such designation in compliance with the standards of the department.
