AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE ANNUAL OBSERVANCE OF GUARDIANS' DAY.

Whereas , The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to provide forthwith for the annual observance of Guardians' Day, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Chapter 6 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 15WWWW inserted by chapter 69 of the acts of 2004, the following section:-

Section 15XXXX. The governor shall annually issue a proclamation setting apart the fourth Sunday in April as Guardians' Day, in recognition of the generous contributions of guardians to the welfare of the commonwealth and recommending that the day be observed in an appropriate manner by the people.
