AN ACT EXEMPTING SCOTT LAWRENCE FROM THE MAXIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT FOR APPLYING FOR CIVIL SERVICE APPOINTMENT AS A POLICE OFFICER IN THE TOWN OF WARE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding chapter 31 of the General Laws or any other general or special law, rule or regulation to the contrary regulating the maximum age of an applicant for appointment as a police officer, Scott Lawrence of the town of Ware shall be eligible to have his name certified for original appointment to the position of police officer in the town of Ware, notwithstanding his having reached the age of 32 before taking any civil service examination in connection with that appointment. If Scott Lawrence meets all other requirements for certification as a police officer under said chapter 31, regulations of the civil service commission and any lawful hiring practices of the town of Ware, he shall be eligible for appointment to the position of police officer in the town of Ware.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
