AN ACT EXEMPTING DIMITRI P. KARPOUZIS FROM THE MAXIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT FOR POLICE OFFICERS IN THE TOWN OF ASHLAND.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding sections 58, 61A and 61B of chapter 31 of the General Laws or any general or special law to the contrary, Dimitri P. Karpouzis may have his name certified for original appointment to the position of police officer in the town of Ashland, notwithstanding having reached the age of 32 before taking any civil service examination in connection with such appointment. In all other respects, Dimitri P. Karpouzis shall be eligible for appointment to the position of police officer in the town of Ashland only insofar as he qualifies and is selected for employment under said chapter 31, regulations of the civil service commission and lawful hiring practices of the town of Ashland. This exemption shall apply only to the certified lists assembled under the examination conducted before the effective date of this act.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
