AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF SOMERVILLE TO INCUR DEBT TO MAINTAIN PROPERTY LEASED, LICENSED, OR OTHERWISE UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE CITY PURSUANT TO AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE COMMONWEALTH.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the city of Somerville may incur debt within the limits of indebtedness for buildings or other properties owned by the commonwealth, but which have been or are hereafter operated, managed and maintained by the city pursuant to a lease, license or other agreement with the commonwealth, to the extent that such borrowing is authorized in section 7 of chapter 44 of the General Laws for properties owned by the city.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
