AN ACT DESIGNATING A CERTAIN PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE IN THE CITY OF BOSTON AS THE FRANCES “FANNY” APPLETON BRIDGE

      Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:
     The pedestrian bridge No. B16-438(BKF) located at Charles circle spanning Storrow drive in the city of Boston shall be designated and known as the Frances “Fanny” Appleton Bridge, in recognition of the celebrated courtship and marriage of Frances Appleton and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, after whom the adjacent bridge is named. The Massachusetts department of conservation and recreation shall, after consultation with the Esplanade Association, Inc., erect and maintain suitable markers bearing the designation in compliance with the standards of the department.
