AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF CHICOPEE TO CHANGE THE USE OF THE CHICOPEE FALLS BRANCH PUBLIC LIBRARY

     Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:
     SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding chapter 645 of the acts of 1950 or any other general or special law to the contrary, the city of Chicopee, acting by and through its city council and mayor, may change the use of all or a portion of the Chicopee Falls Branch Public Library from use as a public library to use as a public school facility for the operation of public school administrative offices and related school purposes.  The Chicopee Falls Branch Public Library, located at 216 Broadway street is a portion of a parcel of land conveyed to the city of Chicopee by deed dated April 22, 1931 and recorded in the Hampden county registry of deeds in book 1482, page 452.
     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
