AN ACT RELATIVE TO POLLING PLACES IN THE CITY OF MARLBOROUGH.

     Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:
     SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding section 24 of chapter 54 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, the city council of the city of Marlborough shall designate the polling place for each voting precinct in the city of Marlborough and shall authorize the mayor of the city to cause each polling place to be suitably fitted up and prepared.  The city council shall locate the polling place in a public, orderly and convenient portion of the precinct; provided, however, that if the city council determines that the public convenience would be better served, it may designate a polling place in any adjacent or non-adjacent precinct of the city.
     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
