AN ACT DESIGNATING A CERTAIN BRIDGE IN THE TOWN OF BARNSTABLE AS THE LOUIS KARRAS MEMORIAL BRIDGE
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:
The bridge on United States highway route 6 spanning Phinneys lane and Hyannis road between exits 6 and 7 in the town of Barnstable shall be designated and known as the Louis Karras memorial bridge in memory of Louis Karras, a highly decorated veteran of World War II and local hero who was awarded the Bronze Star, the French Legion of Honor Medal and a Purple Heart. The division of highways in the Massachusetts Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain suitable markers bearing the designation in compliance with the standards of the department.
