The 193rd General Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

AN ACT DESIGNATING A CERTAIN BRIDGE IN THE TOWN OF STURBRIDGE AS THE TROOPER THOMAS L. CLARDY MEMORIAL BRIDGE.

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to designate forthwith a certain bridge in the town of Sturbridge, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Bridge number S-30-047 on route 49 spanning the Massachusetts Turnpike in the town of Sturbridge shall be designated and known as the Trooper Thomas L. Clardy memorial bridge, in memory of Trooper Thomas L. Clardy, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a Massachusetts state trooper who was killed in the line of duty on March 16, 2016. The division of highways in the Massachusetts Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain suitable markers bearing this designation in compliance with the standards of the department.
