AN ACT RELATIVE TO CERTAIN RETIREMENT BENEFITS FOR HAROLD F. MACGILVRAY, JR.
Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to authorize forthwith certain retirement benefits, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience._____________________________
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 1 of chapter 154 of the acts of 1983 is hereby amended by adding the following sentence:- In addition to the benefits granted herein and upon such retirement, the state retirement board shall issue a lump sum payment equal to his total accumulated retirement deductions plus interest accrued to the retirement date.
