AN ACT AUTHORIZING SCOTT WOOD TO TAKE THE CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION FOR THE POSITION OF POLICE OFFICER IN THE CITY OF HAVERHILL NOTWITHSTANDING THE MAXIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding chapter 31 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary regulating the maximum age of persons taking the civil service examination or applicants for appointment as reserve police officer, Scott Wood of the city of Haverhill shall be eligible to have his name certified for appointment to the position of reserve police officer in the city of Haverhill.  Scott Wood shall be eligible for appointment to the position of reserve police officer in the police department of the city of Haverhill if he meets all other requirements for certification and appointment to such position. This section shall apply for the current list established on September 1, 2017 from the police officer examination held on March 25, 2017, and for the March 23, 2019 police officer examination results and list established from such examination.

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
