AN ACT PROHIBITING TOWN OFFICIALS IN THE TOWN OF NORTH ANDOVER FROM HOLDING CERTAIN OTHER TOWN POSITIONS
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 1 of chapter 6 of the charter of the town of North Andover, which is on file in the office of the archivist of the commonwealth pursuant to section 12 of chapter 43B of the General Laws, is hereby amended by adding the following clause:-
6-1-4 Notwithstanding any other provision of this charter, no town moderator shall and no member of the board of selectmen or school committee shall simultaneously hold any other office or position, the salary or compensation of which is payable out of the treasury of the town.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage and shall apply to any person holding the position of town moderator or serving on the board of selectmen or the school committee on the effective date of this act.
