AN ACT ESTABLISHING RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE OFFICES OF MAYOR, CITY COUNCIL, AND SCHOOL COMMITTEE IN THE CITY OF REVERE

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.  No person shall be eligible for election to the office of mayor, the office of councillor-at-large or the school committee in the city of Revere unless at the time of such election the person has been a resident of the city of Revere for at least 1 year preceding.

SECTION 2.  No person shall be eligible for election to the office of ward councillor in the city of Revere unless at the time of such election the person has been a resident of the ward from which election is sought for at least 1 year preceding.

SECTION 3.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
