AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE TOWN OF BERNARDSTON TO CONTINUE THE EMPLOYMENT OF FIRE DEPARTMENT MEMBER LLOYD GROVER

     Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
     SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Lloyd Grover, a member of the fire department of the town of Bernardston, may continue to serve in that position until he reaches the age of 70, until the date of his retirement or until his nonreappointment, whichever occurs first; provided, however, that he is mentally and physically capable of performing the duties of his office; provided further, that the town may at its own expense require that Lloyd Grover be examined by an impartial physician designated by the town to determine such capability. No further deductions shall be made from the regular compensation of Lloyd Grover pursuant to chapter 32 of the General Laws for any service subsequent to his reaching the age of 65 and upon retirement Lloyd Grover shall receive a superannuation retirement allowance equal to that which he would have been entitled had he retired upon reaching the age of 65.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
