AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE SELECT BOARD OF EASTON TO LEASE A CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding chapter 30B of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, the town of Easton may lease certain parcels of land to the Oakes Ames Memorial Hall Association for a term of not more than 50 years, for the construction of parking facilities associated with the operation of Oakes Ames Memorial Hall. The parcels are identified on the town of Easton’s assessors' map 16U as lots 162 and 159A, containing 54,123 square feet of land, more or less, the substantial portion of which is also shown as lot 4 on a plan of land entitled “SHAKESPEARE GLEN, Definitive Subdivision, Plan of Land in Easton, Mass. Scale 40 feet to an inch July 27, 1985 Ernest W.  Branch, Inc., Civil Engineers Munroe Building, 1245 Hancock St. Quincy Revised: August 21, 1985 September 4, 1985” recorded in the Bristol northern district registry of deeds in plan book 348, pages 62 to 64, inclusive.

SECTION 2.  The select board of the town of Easton may determine the terms and conditions of the lease authorized in section 1 as it determines to be in the best interests of the town.

SECTION 3.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
