AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE DISBURSEMENT OF FUNDS HELD BY THE TOWN OF WESTFORD

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the town of Westford, acting by and through its select board, may disburse funds recovered through section 81U of chapter 41 of the General Laws and currently held in escrow to reimburse private parties for the costs and expenses incurred in completing the subdivision way known as the Rome Drive Extension. Said private parties shall be reimbursed in total, in an amount equal to the funds currently held in escrow by the town. The town shall obtain and maintain with the town clerk receipts for all contractors and services engaged by said private parties to complete the Rome Drive Extension and shall not incur liability or disburse any funds in excess of that held in escrow by the town for the purpose of completing the Rome Drive Extension as of the passage of this act.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
