AN ACT RENAMING THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN IN THE TOWN OF HINGHAM TO THE SELECT BOARD.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 1 of chapter 263 of the acts of 2016 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 2. Section 2 of said chapter 263 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 3. Section 3 of said chapter 263 is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 4. Notwithstanding any general or special law or by-law to the contrary, the executive body of the town of Hingham, previously known as the board of selectmen, shall be known as the select board and shall have the powers and authority of a board of selectmen under any general or special law.
SECTION 5. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
