AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF CAMBRIDGE TO INCREASE CERTAIN PARKING FINES

SECTION 1. (a) Notwithstanding the limitation on the amount of fines that may be charged pursuant to section 20A½ of chapter 90 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, the city of Cambridge may prescribe a schedule of fines for violations of its ordinances, rules and regulations relative to the prohibition on parking on any street or part thereof within the city limits to facilitate the cleaning of streets exceeding the limitation of fines under said section 20A½ of said chapter 90.
        (b) The city may issue fines under the schedule of fines prescribed in subsection (a) prohibiting parking up to a maximum of $250, including all applicable fines and penalties.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
