AN ACT INCREASING THE AGE LIMIT FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF SPECIAL POLICE OFFICERS IN THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Special police officers in the city of Springfield appointed pursuant to chapter 133 of the acts of 2018 shall not be subject to the same maximum age restrictions applied to regular police officers in the city of Springfield under chapter 32 of the General Laws; provided, however, that such special police officers appointed pursuant to said chapter 133 shall be subject to a maximum age restriction of 70 years of age..

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
