AN ACT DESIGNATING A CERTAIN BRIDGE AS THE LIEUTENANT DAVID S. CUTLER MEMORIAL BRIDGE

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to designate a certain bridge on the North river, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Bridge department number M07001, bridge identification number 43T, spanning the North river in the towns of Marshfield and Norwell shall be designated and known as the Lieutenant David S. Cutler memorial bridge in honor of David S. Cutler, a veteran, businessman, journalist and long-time resident of the South Shore region of the commonwealth who served in active duty for the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and earned a Purple Heart and a United States Navy commendation medal for his meritorious service while attempting to rescue one of his fellow service members.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain a suitable marker bearing the designation in compliance with the standards of the department.
