AN ACT DESIGNATING A CERTAIN BRIDGE IN THE TOWN OF HARWICH AS THE UNITED STATES ARMY PRIVATE FIRST CLASS JOSEPH C. BLUTE MEMORIAL BRIDGE

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Massachusetts Department of Transportation’s bridge number C-07-005 located on state highway route 28 spanning over Muddy creek in the town of Harwich shall be designated and known as the United States Army Private First Class Joseph C. Blute memorial bridge, in honor and recognition of United States Army Private First Class Joseph C. Blute who lost his life in France on December 17, 1944 while serving in the 324 Infantry Regiment, 44th Division. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain suitable markers and a memorial plaque on the bridge bearing the designation in compliance with the standards of the department.
