AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE TOWN OF CHESTERFIELD TO CONTINUE THE EMPLOYMENT OF RESERVE SPECIAL POLICE OFFICER GREG SMITH

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. (a) Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Greg Smith, a member of the Chesterfield police department, may continue to serve as a reserve special police officer until Greg Smith reaches 70 years of age or the date of Greg Smith’s retirement or until Greg Smith’s non-reappointment, whichever occurs first, and no further deductions shall be made from the regular compensation of Greg Smith in connection with Greg Smith’s service to the town for retirement or pension purposes pursuant to chapter 32 of the General Laws for any service subsequent to Greg Smith reaching the age of 65.
          (b) Notwithstanding section 1, Greg Smith shall be subject to chapter 6E of the General Laws and section 96B of chapter 41 of the General Laws for the duration of his employment pursuant to this act.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
